MAG ERA 5 – Coverage-shaping Screen System

Сinemas commonly employed horn systems to achieve high sound pressure from a single source, meeting technical requirements but often compromising overall quality. Despite this, many viewers and cinema owners accepted this average experience. However, we recognized that a superior approach was possible.

MAG Cinema’s engineers defied the convention to craft the ERA 5 screen speaker — an elegant vertical line array featuring precise directivity and a cardioid low-frequency component. Its exquisite design almost makes us regret concealing it behind the screen. Yet, its true beauty lies in its state-of-the-art innovations and remarkable sound quality.

The slim mid-high range tower produces linear, detailed sound akin to Hi-Fi standards, while Coverage Control HF and Spread Array MF technologies ensure precise coverage. Its sound pressure rivals that of leading screen speaker horn solutions.

The low-frequency cabinet, with three powerful 15-inch woofers, uses built-in passive cardioid technology. No special settings are required — everything works seamlessly from one amplification channel. We’ve achieved a 16 dB reduction in rear sound, minimizing reflections and ensuring direct sound fills the room without interference. Almost no sound penetrates adjacent auditoriums, ensuring comfort for all visitors.

The ERA 5 delivers unparalleled sound quality. Its innovative design and precise coverage provide detailed and captivating audio, ensuring that every viewer enjoys a perfectly balanced experience during each cinema visit.

EVERY SEAT DESERVES THE FINEST SOUND

HAVE THE FULL CONTROL OVER ENTIRE ROOM

MID-RANGE CONTROLLED COVERAGE

Middle-frequency ranges are handled by eight 6-inch drivers assembled using the Spread Array technology. Specially designed uneven spacing between speakers widens the frontal lobe of vertical coverage, making the frequency response more predictable and easier to handle.

COVERAGE CONTROL HF WAVEGUIDE

Screen line array inherited its HF radiator from the line array technology, providing narrower and more focused vertical coverage. Additionally, it uses adaptable horizontal coverage to deliver the high-frequencies in a much more intelligent way: wider coverage on the bottom reaches more front-row seats than ordinary horns, while narrow coverage on the bottom focuses the sound for unaffected performance at rear seats.

PASSIVE CARDIOID LF SECTION

The industry-exclusive passive cardioid low-frequency section finally gains control over the persistent low-frequency disruptions that have plagued cinemas for years. With reduced radiation at the rear, there’s less reflected sound from the rear wall, resulting in more uniform coverage across the room. Additionally, this means significantly less sound leakage through the walls. Now, every moviegoer can enjoy their movie without disturbance from neighboring theaters.
