From dreams to screens: the story of the Riviera cinema in Balclut
The Riviera Cinema, located in the new Clutha Community Hub in Balclutha, New Zealand, marks a significant milestone as the first permanent cinema in the city since the closure of the Old Britannia Theatre in the 1970s. Founded by the Australian expatriate couple, Chris and Grace Rottenberry, this exciting cinema venture symbolizes their dream realization in Balclutha, a small town that until recently lacked a dedicated movie theater.
This project also stands as a landmark achievement for MAG Cinema, further expanding the global reach of its high-quality audio products to the farthest corners of the world from Ukraine.
The Riviera Cinema currently boasts a single auditorium equipped with a 5-meter screen, 32 premium seats, three two-seater couches, digital laser projection, and a state-of-the-art 7.1 sound system based on MAG Cinema's acoustic technology. The owners aspire to expand to three screens in the future.
The installation includes the following equipment:

✔️ 1 x MAG Cinema V-SUB-8 – subwoofers
✔️ 1 x MAG Cinema W-SUB-88 – subwoofers
